A beautifully illustrated book for ages 5+, “The Young Man’s Plan” deals with the story of one of the respected companions in an honest way, whilst still being palatable and entertaining for children with fun rhymes and repetition. I think this book would be especially useful for home educators who are looking for a way to introduce their young ones to stories of the companions that they may not have heard before. I would definitely recommend, can’t wait for the next installment!
Aminah –
Bright, colourful and thoroughly engaging. This beautiful book is a joy for all to read (I opened it up to have a look and couldn’t stop turning the pages!). I am excited about sharing this story and it’s deep lessons with my children. A great gift and fun teaching resource also. I have introduced our local madrassah to “The Young Man’s Plan” and the teachers will be using it within lessons.

I really enjoyed the book because it was very interesting and colourfull. I was very eager to find out who the man was and I wanted to know his plan. I would like to buy some more books from this author.

As a mother of 6 ما شاء الله تبارك وتعالى im interested in buying books that will engage all of my children. Wonderfully engaging for self readers 6 yrs plus, appropriate language, beautiful illustrations that help to carry the story through, all cushioned in rhyme. The rhythm of the poem also makes it entertaining to read to younger children. Having worked in the Primary educational setting, I would happily have this on my resources shelf. Frustratingly, its quite rare to find a children’s Islamic themed book that actually is appropriate for children, however this books helps to rectify that. Look forward to seeing more from this author inshallah.

Great book mashaaAllaah. Very accurate and informative in a playful and creative manner making it easy for children to grasp. It’s one of them books that you read and always remember so it’s an excellent way to teach your children about the sahaabah. Can’t wait for the next one!

A great book MashaAllah. It’s a lovely way to introduce your children to the lives of the companions. My younger sister (aged 9) said she loved the rhyming poem and the illustrations were really nice. We look forward to the next one inshaAllah!

It wasn’t just my son who enjoyed this story, mummy did too! Ma sha Allah tabarakAllah the story was concise with poetry flowing well. Not only does this teach our children islamic studies; the poetry format is also great for teaching English literature skills for academic studies.
My son is young and the colourful illustrations were ideal and kept his attention captivated. As a revert, I often have to learn from the bottom, children’s resources also benefit myself and this was a nice reminder of the story of Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) which was easy for myself to understand and I would not just recommend this for children, but also reverts new to the deen and new to seeking knowledge, perhaps as a nice gift welcoming them to Islam, so if you know any reverts and do not want to over burden them with intense knowledge straight away, this book may come in handy – especially as this story relates to a revert finding the deen and changing his old ways.
May Allah reward all those involved with making this book, for their sincere beautiful effort of spreading knowledge.

This book is colourful and the story is beautifully illustrated. The poetic style of narration adds a pleasure and interest to read. Masha Allah
I read it first and then my grandson who is 5.5 years old read it. I felt that once he started to read he wanted to know to carry on reading until he finished it. He was curious who the “The Young Man” was. I personally like this style very much.
I would like the author to write more stories about sahaba a.s. so children can learn more about them how good and dedicated they were towards Prophet (pbuh) and the religion of Islam.
I wish the author every success in her future projects.
Omar Hussain –
My children enjoyed the story.

Saad Butt –
I love this book! Although my childhood days are way past me but as soon as I opened this book I couldn’t put it down until I finished it.
The repetition and poetic language of this book makes it a joy to read to children. Over a short space of a few pages, the book takes you through different emotions and builds up suspense as the story of how this great sahaabi accepted Islam unfolds.
-highly recommendi t!

Assalaamu alaykum . The books came yesterday and Subhana’Allah. I’m so pleased. I read the story about Umar Ibn Al Khattaab to the kids for bedtime and it was amazing. May Allah reward you with good in this life and the next Aameen ?. And the delivery was extremely quick Masha’Allah. I haven’t been through the other books as yet. Really enjoyed this book not just for my son but for myself as a revert.
Umm Abdur-Rahim –
A beautiful and touching story, written so simply for the younger audience.
This book can be appreciated on different levels, for those first encountering the story to those who recognise it from before.
A beautiful rhyme and rhythm mashaAllah.
Left a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat.
M Adnin –
What I like about this book is that it’s written in a beautiful rhymes and yet very simple for my young son (5 years old) to grasp the story. We read the book together and it was also his first experienced being introduced to the seerah of the greatest companion. He was impressed!

‘The Young man’s plan’ and ‘Ka’b’s big decision’
So I recently made this purchase when I placed this order, I wondered if the narrative style would live up to my expectations (finding the samples on the website convincing), as I’ve often disappointingly found that there are few children’s books in the Muslim market that truly make the mark in terms of prose and rhythm and simply being a page-turning book that captivates children (as well as adults), I’ve often found myself having to laboriously skim and simplify adult books for the kiddies to follow.
The young man’s plan, had me guessing which of the sahaaba it was based on, a very clever way of captivating one from the onset. The rhythm and repetition of the theme, on the sincerity of the prophet sws, was a very effective way of reinforcing and instilling the idea in children and perfect for reading out aloud. The style of writing reminds me of Julia Donaldson’s, (author of the famous ‘Gruffalo’ book) because it’s nice to read a story that isn’t just written for the sake of rhyming with a preachy tone, but one that has a lovely story line, that allows for discussion in the process. So the Young Man’s Plan was certainly a hit!
‘Ka’b’s big decision’, -though I found slightly tricky to explain to my kiddies I.e. in terms of ‘the expedition’ and idea of war- is another lovely story, with great rhythm and overall message, where we had plenty to discuss and talk about. Although I weren’t to keen on the pictures and visual style (as I presume the author disagrees with drawing facial features) the writing, which is a main part of a book anyway, is very strong and perfectly enjoyable for reading over and over again!
The young man’s plan also comes with a work book aimed at ages 6+ (but which I think can be suitable from 4/5 onwards, depending on the competency of your child) the work book is just lovely and I can’t wait for more from the author, it’s the kind of book that I’ve always thought of producing for my kiddies, an interesting and enjoyable way of not only consolidating the msg of the story but also having fun in the process, with word searches, dot-to-dot and mazes. Especially useful for home-schoolers but also those of us trying to combine a bit of Islamic education at home.
Thank you! Keep those wonderful books coming xxx

Zayd’s (aged 8) book review of The Young Man’s Plan
Firstly, this type of book is non-fiction although the pictures are presented fiction. It is based on a true story 1437 years ago. This wonderful and unforgettable story is mostly suitable for children in KS1 and KS2, plus it is so interesting that anyone could read this amazing story. Also it has been written in a poetic style.
I enjoyed this book because it was interesting and I like stories that contain prophets. Plus, in my opinion, I like stories that ask you questions because it makes me read more.
My favourite part in the book is where the young man becomes a Muslim because it was amazing and interesting. Furthermore, I like it when people accept Islam because then it produces more Muslims, in my opinion.
I would recommend this lovely book to my friend because I think he would find it interesting. Plus he could read it with his brother and find it interesting as well.

Lovely rhymes, very enjoyable reading for kids and parents too!
Educational too cause it opens discussion and learning about truth, which is what I particularly pointed out to my kids….fairy tales there are millions but to read a storybook that is entertaining and also truth, that is rare these days.
I love that through this series I can teach children that with Allah Subhana Wa ta’Ala are the best of excitement, the best of stories….real life stories from the past…looking forward to more titles,in shaa Allah.

I am always in the look out for Islamic story books for my children. This book is beautifully illustrated and exceptionally well written. The rhyming scheme is engaging and fun to read. Although written for a younger audience, even my older ones were captivated by this book and were asking when the next one would be available! I would highly recommend this book.
